About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Chartered Accountant to spearhead financial leadership and control across our organization. This position will be responsible for full-spectrum bookkeeping, statutory compliance, and financial reporting.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Financial Reporting
    • Prepare comprehensive financial statements on a monthly basis for standalone and consolidated entities.
    • Supervise books of accounts for global entities based out of various locations.
    • Ensure reconciliations between consolidated accounts and management information systems (MIS) are completed, documented, and variances explained.
    • Manage the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations, and report preparation.
    • Manage reconciliations, accounting, and reporting for third-party marketplaces.
  • Audit, Tax, Legal & Compliance
    • Lead statutory audits for entities in India and the US.
    • Manage direct and indirect tax compliance – Goods and Services Tax (GST), income tax, Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) in India; US federal and state tax filings.
    • Manage all regulatory filings (Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Reserve Bank of India/Foreign Exchange Management Act, GST, Provident Fund, Employees' State Insurance Corporation, TDS, transfer pricing, tax returns, income tax assessments, labor law compliances etc).
    • Liaise with the Chief Financial Officer to review legal contracts and be the first point of contact for any legal-related issues.
  • Other Responsibilities
    • Play a key role in investor financial, legal, and tax due diligence reviews.
    • Define and continually evaluate standard operating procedures (SOPs) that relate to financial reporting and compliance.
    • Collaborate with the technology team to streamline financial reporting between accounting software and internal reporting platform, with the goal of maximizing automation.
    Requirements

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Chartered Accountant certification with 8-10 years of work experience.
  • Retail industry experience.
