MEP Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking a highly skilled MEP Quantity Surveyor & Planning professional to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, with a proven track record in quantity surveying and project planning. This role involves managing cost estimation, budgeting, and scheduling for MEP systems on various construction projects, ensuring that all aspects are completed on time and within budget.
Responsibilities:
Quantity Surveying:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for MEP works, including labor, materials, and overheads.
- Conduct cost analysis, value engineering, and cost-benefit assessments.
- Prepare and manage budgets for MEP projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Review and evaluate subcontractor quotations and manage negotiations.
- Monitor project expenditures and identify potential cost overruns.
Planning:
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules for MEP systems, integrating with overall project timelines.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to align schedules and resource plans.
- Monitor progress and adjust schedules as necessary to accommodate changes and delays.
- Prepare and present progress reports, including schedule updates and forecasts.
- Identify and mitigate scheduling risks and issues.
Contract Management:
- Review and understand contract documents, ensuring compliance with contract terms.
- Manage variations and claims, including preparation of necessary documentation.
- Assist in the resolution of contractual disputes and issues.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain comprehensive records of all cost and planning-related documentation.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on project cost status, progress, and forecasted outcomes.
- Ensure all documentation is accurate, timely, and compliant with company and industry standards.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with project teams, clients, and subcontractors to ensure project requirements are met.
- Facilitate meetings and discussions related to MEP cost and scheduling issues.
- Provide expert advice and recommendations on cost and planning matters.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., MRICS, PQS) is preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in MEP quantity surveying and project planning.
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems, construction processes, and relevant industry standards.
- Proficiency in quantity surveying software and planning tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
