Key Responsibilities
  • Designing Engaging Lesson Plans: Develop curriculum-aligned lesson plans that cater to diverse learning needs and promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and effective communication.
  • Making Global Connections: Make relevant connections between the learning area and the current global scenario to foster a deeper understanding of the world around us.
  • Setting Clear Objectives: Identify clear teaching objectives and specify how they will be achieved in class to ensure students meet their full potential.
Instructional Strategies
  • Adapting Teaching Techniques: Utilize a range of teaching techniques and tools to address different learners' needs and preferences.
  • Collaborative Approach: Collaborate with colleagues to provide students with academic, non-academic, and social support to ensure they thrive in all areas.
  • Remedial Sessions: Conduct remedial sessions as required to ensure students acquire and consolidate knowledge, skills, and understanding appropriate to the unit taught.
Culture and Community
  • Fostering Positive Culture: Create a welcoming and positive classroom culture that integrates our school's values into all aspects of teaching and learning.
  • Managing Student Behavior: Establish and enforce rules and procedures to maintain discipline in accordance with our school's standards.
  • Discipline and Responsibility: Maintain discipline in accordance with our school's rules and disciplinary systems to create a safe and respectful learning environment.
Professional Development
  • Continuing Professional Growth: Attend continuing professional development sessions and take responsibility for own professional development to stay updated on best practices.
  • Communication and Cooperation: Communicate, cooperate, and consult with school staff and parents/guardians in the best interest of students.
  • Planning Educational Activities: Plan, execute, and chaperone educational activities and events ensuring their safety and effectiveness.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelors or Masters of Education in the relevant subject area is essential.
  • Experience: Teaching IGCSE or other international curricula can be highly beneficial in this role.
  • Skills: Understanding of the IGCSE framework, assessment methods, and syllabi is crucial for success.
