Project Engineer: Estimation and Tendering Specialist

Role Overview: We are seeking a highly detail-oriented project engineer to support tender estimations, prepare detailed Bill of Quantities (BoQ) for in-house designed projects, and contribute to the growth and success of our organization.

The ideal candidate will possess prior experience in highway or bridge infrastructure projects and demonstrate strong proficiency in reading technical drawings and GFC documents. A diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pre-Bid Tender Estimation: Review and interpret tender documents, schedules, and technical specifications to ensure accurate and timely estimations.
  • Prepare Preliminary BoQs: Develop preliminary Bill of Quantities based on schematic or tender drawings, maintaining and updating material rates and quantity databases as necessary.
  • Maintain and Update Databases: Ensure that material rates and quantity databases are current and accurate, facilitating efficient and informed decision-making.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Post-Award Quantity Take-Offs: Extract quantities related to highways and structural elements, ensuring accuracy and consistency throughout the project.
  • Coordinate with Design and Drafting Teams: Collaborate with design and drafting teams to ensure that all deliverables meet the highest standards of quality and consistency.
  • Prepare Structured and Itemized BoQs: Develop comprehensive and structured Bill of Quantities for client submissions, tender support, or project billing.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree: In Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying, demonstrating a strong foundation in mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading technical drawings and GFC documents, with hands-on experience in Excel and knowledge of AutoCAD or BoQ preparation software a plus.
