Job Title: Special Educator

As a special educator, you will be working with children who have developmental needs, providing structured and personalized therapy services in their home environment.

This role focuses on developing functional academics, communication skills, and supporting daily living activities (ADLs).

  • You will design and deliver tailored special education sessions that cater to each child's unique needs and abilities.
  • Your goal is to help children build functional communication, basic literacy, and language through engaging activities.
  • You will also support the child's independence in ADLs, such as dressing, eating, and basic routines.
  • In addition, you will conduct informal assessments to set measurable goals and track progress.
  • Another key aspect of this role is developing engaging, age-appropriate learning tools and methods.
  • Maintaining clear session records and updating the team regularly is crucial for effective collaboration and support.
  • You will work closely with parents and other therapists to ensure holistic support for the child.
Requirements:
  • A diploma, bachelor's or master's degree in special education is required.
  • At least 1 year of experience working with children with developmental disabilities is essential.
  • A strong understanding of communication strategies and life skills training is vital for success in this role.
  • The ability to work independently in a home-based setting is also necessary.
  • A respectful, non-judgmental, and family-focused approach is paramount in this position.
