Internal Control Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to fill the Internal Control Specialist position. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of internal controls, risk management, and compliance.

The successful candidate will perform control testing as part of the Control Monitoring Program to ensure that internal controls over financial reporting are designed and operating effectively. They will also apply company policies, procedures, and accounting standards as necessary.

The Internal Control Specialist will be responsible for reviewing key business processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, and maintaining excellent relationships within the team and with stakeholders.

They will also develop an understanding of the SOXHub Tool (AuditBoard), communicate effectively with others, and promote teamwork in achieving organizational objectives.

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Management, or a related field, and prior experience in Risk & Compliance or Internal Control roles, finance experience preferred.

The successful Internal Control Specialist will possess strong oral and written communication skills, ability to multi-task, demonstrate strong organization skills, and flexibility to adapt to an ever-changing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform control testing to ensure internal controls are effective.
  • Apply company policies, procedures, and accounting standards.
  • Review key business processes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Maintain excellent relationships within the team and with stakeholders.
  • Develop an understanding of the SOXHub Tool (AuditBoard).
  • Communicate effectively with others.
  • Promote teamwork in achieving organizational objectives.

Qualifications & Technical Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Management, or related field.
  • Understanding of US GAAP, GAAS, Sarbanes-Oxley, COSO framework, and leading business practices.
  • 1 year relevant experience in Risk & Compliance or Internal Control roles, finance experience preferred.
  • Microsoft Office skills, primarily Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint.
  • CPA required. Other certifications preferred (CIA, CISA, etc).
