Logistics Operations Leader

The Logistics Operations Leader is a pivotal role that demands strong leadership and operational acumen to ensure timely and accurate delivery of cargo to customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate logistics operations for imports and exports departments, monitoring workflows and management of resources to ensure efficient processes.
  • Ensure swift and reliable delivery of cargo, compliance with regulations of USA & Canada Customs/IATA/TSA, and seamless collaboration with service providers.
  • Supervise shift managers and their teams, reviewing key performance indicators regularly to meet expectations in quality, timelines, and communication.
  • Resolve escalations and exceptions during the shipment process, providing regular feedback, training, and development sessions.
  • Identify areas of inefficiency or data integrity issues, building improvement plans and proposing automation and smarter flows.

Financial and Accounting Functions:

  • Set goals and objectives for the team in accordance with company guidelines and key performance areas/indicators.
  • Utilize established indicators and tools effectively to ensure all accounting matters are finalized to maximize revenue.

People Management Functions:

  • Lead, motivate, and manage all logistics operations teams, maintaining adequate staffing levels.
  • Conduct quarterly performance reviews, establishing targets and objectives, and monitor staff performance.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with all freight forwarding procedures and financials: TSA, CBP, IATA, FMC, BIS.
  • Bachelor's degree in any field (preferably Commerce, International Trade, Logistics).
  • 5+ years of industry-related experience required, with a preference for freight forwarding.
  • 2+ years of team management experience, including managing team leads or shift managers.
  • Demonstrated Leadership and People Management skills.
