Job Title: Senior Credit Officer - Wholesale Banking

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Credit Officer to join our Wholesale Banking team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, evaluating, and approving credit proposals as a first level officer.

  • Assess, evaluate, and approve credit proposals for wholesale banking relationships involving various products such as term loans, trade finance, CCs, ODs, and PSRs.
  • Take ownership of assigned portfolio of accounts, including regular monitoring, early warning identification, deferral tracking, and developing account strategies in conjunction with business teams.
  • Collaborate with business, CAD, operations, and compliance teams to ensure regulatory compliance with respect to credit dispensation and monitoring, including end-use monitoring.
  • Provide clear opinions on the acceptability of proposed transactions/facilities from a risk perspective, covering business models, industry risks, structures, financial risks, and regulations.
  • Meet business counterparts regularly to review early warning signals and close monitoring.
  • Maintain accurate records and follow up on clearing deferrals/overdue/delays appearing in daily MIS circulated by operations teams.
  • Partner with business, CAD, and operations teams to address issues/respond to RBI auditors on credit matters.
  • Develop strong understanding of client business and industry dynamics through regular client calling.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong technical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.
  • Expert knowledge in analyzing financial statements.
  • In-depth knowledge of banking products and processes.
  • Understanding of accounting principles, banking and commercial laws, and regulatory knowledge.
  • Excellent knowledge of competition and current trends in the financial industry.
