Senior Financial Manager

Financial Leadership Position

The Head of Accounts and Finance will lead and oversee the entire accounts and finance function of a company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, statutory compliance, effective cash flow management, and strategic financial planning.

This role requires a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) with proven experience in managing end-to-end accounts and finance operations within the manufacturing industry, preferably metals/steel.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Management & Strategy

• Lead the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting process to ensure the company's financial goals are met.
• Develop strategies to optimize cost, improve margins, and enhance profitability through efficient use of resources.
• Monitor financial performance against business goals and provide insights for decision-making to drive growth and improvement.

1. Accounts & Reporting

• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) to meet regulatory requirements and support business decisions.
• Manage day-to-day accounting operations and oversee accounting team performance to maintain high standards of quality and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS) and applicable financial reporting standards to minimize risk and maximize credibility.

1. Compliance & Audit

• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including GST, Income Tax, TDS, ROC filings, and other applicable laws to maintain a strong reputation and avoid penalties.
• Liaise with statutory, internal, and tax auditors and ensure timely completion of audits to minimize disruptions and delays.
• Stay updated with regulatory changes impacting the manufacturing and metal sector to adapt and thrive in a rapidly changing environment.

1. Treasury & Working Capital Management

• Manage cash flows, banking operations, and fund utilization efficiently to maintain liquidity and minimize costs.
• Oversee working capital management, credit control, and debtor management to optimize cash conversion cycles and reduce bad debts.
• Build strong relationships with banks, financial institutions, and investors for fund raising and project financing to support business growth and expansion.

1. Cost Control & MIS

• Implement effective cost accounting systems and monitor production-related costs to identify areas for improvement and optimize resource allocation.
• Develop and present periodic MIS reports to management for financial performance tracking and analysis.
• Support business units with financial analysis to aid in pricing, costing, and investment decisions to drive informed business decisions.

1. Team Leadership & Development

• Lead and mentor the accounts and finance team, ensuring skill development and high performance to achieve business objectives.
• Establish strong internal controls and processes across the department to maintain integrity, compliance, and operational excellence.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation to drive growth, excellence, and success.

Requirements:

• Qualification: Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).
• Experience: 8 - 15 years post CA qualification experience in Accounts and Finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in manufacturing (preferably metals/steel sector).
• Strong expertise in financial reporting, statutory compliance, cost control, and treasury management to deliver exceptional results.
• Proven track record in handling audits, liaising with banks, and managing working capital to demonstrate capability and reliability.
• Excellent leadership, analytical, and decision-making skills to drive business growth, improvement, and success.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) to stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and tools.
