Cloud Operations Specialist Job Description

We are seeking an experienced cloud professional to manage, monitor, and support our Google Cloud Platform environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer and support GCP infrastructure services (Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage, VPC, IAM, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, etc.) for optimal performance and availability.
  • Monitor system health using GCP monitoring tools (Stackdriver, Cloud Logging, Cloud Monitoring) and implement incident management processes.
  • Manage user access and security policies via IAM and service accounts to ensure compliance with security best practices.
  • Deploy, configure, and manage networking (VPC, VPN, Interconnect, Load Balancers, Firewalls) within GCP for seamless integration.
  • Automate operational tasks using Terraform / Deployment Manager / scripts to increase efficiency.
  • Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery (DR) solutions on GCP for business continuity.
  • Collaborate with development and DevOps teams for application deployment and integration to meet business objectives.
  • Evaluate and improve existing systems to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) administration and support.
  • Hands-on with GCP services: Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, IAM, Networking, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, GKE, Pub/Sub.
  • Good knowledge of Linux/Windows system administration and scripting languages (Python, Shell, PowerShell, etc.).
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem Management) and compliance requirements.
  • Understanding of network protocols (DNS, VPN, Load Balancing, Firewalls, VPC peering).
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with Terraform / Ansible / Deployment Manager.
  • Exposure to Kubernetes (GKE) and container management.
  • GCP Certification is a plus.
