The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong background in High-Performance Computing and be well-versed in delivering exceptional results.

About the Position

We are seeking an experienced HPC professional to join our team. The successful candidate will have excellent technical skills, including proficiency in administering HPC and VDI clusters, managing user accounts, creating and maintaining AMI images, and installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux operating systems.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Administering HPC and VDI clusters to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Managing user accounts for HPC onboarding and offboarding, ensuring seamless transitions and minimal downtime.
  • Creating and maintaining AMI images in AMI accounts, streamlining the deployment process and reducing errors.
  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux operating systems on HPC clusters, guaranteeing compatibility and reliability.
  • Supporting HPC components and native services by coordinating with respective providers, such as EFPortal, AWS RES, CycleCloud, and AWS Parallel Cluster.
  • Providing expert-level support for AWS Managed Active Directory and managing its upkeep.
  • Ensuring continuous upgrades to the HPC platform and related components, including OS, Java, Python, EFPortal, and more.
  • Implementing and maintaining necessary compliance controls, conducting regular audits, and sharing findings with corrective actions.
  • Collaborating with other teams, like v-drive, to test and migrate engineering applications to the platform.
  • Managing job schedulers such as Slurm or LSF, optimizing resource allocation and minimizing wait times.
  • Utilizing node provisioning tools like Werewolf to streamline the deployment process and reduce errors.
  • Troubleshooting system issues and providing technical support to users, ensuring prompt resolutions and high satisfaction rates.
  • Monitoring system performance and ensuring optimal operation of the HPC environment, identifying areas for improvement and implementing adjustments as needed.
  • Collaborating with other IT professionals to integrate new technologies into the existing infrastructure, driving innovation and growth.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Strong Technical Skills:
  • Progressive experience in HPC system administration, preferably in a Redhat/CentOS Linux environment.
  • Proficiency in AWS Cloud formation templates to build infrastructure for HPC and storage, specifically Amazon FSx for Netapp and Lustre.
  • Familiarity with job schedulers, such as Slurm or LSF, and node provisioning tools, like Werewolf.
Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with experience in AWS Managed Active Directory, EFPortal, AWS RES, CycleCloud, and AWS Parallel Cluster will be preferred.
