Key Responsibilities of a Financial Management Professional

The role of a Financial Management Professional involves overseeing the day-to-day financial operations, preparing and presenting financial statements, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and local tax regulations.

  • Accounting Operations: Oversee accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger to ensure accuracy and timely processing.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports that provide valuable insights into the company's financial performance.
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow, investments, and cash forecasting to ensure liquidity and minimize financial risks.
  • Budget Planning: Manage budgeting processes and support cross-functional departmental budget planning to align resources with strategic objectives.
  • Financial Performance Evaluation: Evaluate financial performance by comparing actual results with plans and forecasts to identify areas for improvement.
Accounting & Compliance:
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, GSTR-9C etc) and handle GST audits, assessments, and departmental notices.
  • Manage statutory and tax audits, assessments, and ensure timely responses.
  • Maintain documentation and records for all FEMA-related transactions.
Strategic Support:
  • Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making and collaborate with senior management on financial planning and risk management.
Team Leadership:
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff to ensure continuous improvement in financial processes and systems.

Requirements: Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. 10–15 years of experience in financial management and accounting. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
