Job Title: Senior Tax Professional

We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable professional to oversee various accounting, taxation, audit, and compliance-related tasks.

This role involves assisting in statutory audits and tax audits under the income tax act, preparing working papers and documentation required for audits, and supporting the implementation and monitoring of internal financial controls.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in GST, income tax, TDS, tax audit, and statutory audit, as well as proficiency in Tally, MS Excel, and other accounting software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in statutory audits and tax audits under the income tax act.
  • Prepare working papers and documentation required for audits.
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of internal financial controls.
  • Prepare details for form 3CD and other tax audit-related schedules.

Taxation Services:

  • File income tax returns for individuals, firms, and companies.
  • Prepare and submit GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, etc.).
  • Handle TDS computation, payment, filing, and issuance of form 16/16A.
  • Manage professional tax registrations and compliance.

Notice Handling:

  • Draft and file responses to income tax notices (e.g., 143(1), 139(9), etc.).
  • Reply to GST notices, show cause notices, and queries from departments.

Registrations & Approvals:

  • Manage GST registration and amendments for businesses.
  • Assist NGOs and trusts in obtaining 12A & 80G registrations.
  • Support startup India registration and related compliance.

Compliance & Legal Updates:

  • Ensure timely filings and updates under GST, TDS, and income tax laws.
  • Process amendments in registrations (address change, PAN updates, etc.).
  • Stay updated on statutory changes and implement them accordingly.

General Accounting Support:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Support in budgeting, reporting, reconciliations, and book finalization.
  • Assist in preparation of data for audits, assessments, and inspections.

Skillset: Strong knowledge of Indian taxation laws, experience in tax audits and statutory audits, proficiency in Tally, MS Excel, and other accounting software, attention to detail, strong analytical and drafting skills, ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines.

Qualifications: B. Com / M. Com / MBA (Finance) or equivalent, CA semi-qualified or CA dropout – preferred, 1–3 years of hands-on experience in accounting, taxation, and audit, preferably in a CA firm or consulting environment.
