XML Accessibility Specialist Opportunity

This is a full-time hybrid role for an experienced XML accessibility analyst.

The role is responsible for ensuring that digital content meets regulatory compliance and is accessible to all users.

Key tasks include converting documents to accessible formats, conducting accessibility audits, maintaining project documentation, and collaborating with various teams to ensure high-quality deliverables.

Responsibilities:
  • Convert print or digital content into structured XML formats for digital publishing.
  • Ensure content is compliant with industry standards such as EPUB 3.0, DAISY, HTML5, and accessibility guidelines (WCAG, Section 508).
  • Validate XML files using tools like EPUBCheck, XML Schema, DTDs, and Schematron.
  • Collaborate with content developers, designers, and QA teams to maintain quality and consistency.

Requirements:

  • Experience in PDF conversion and accessibility
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards such as WCAG, Section 508, and ADA
  • Familiarity with accessibility tools like JAWS, NVDA, or VoiceOver
  • Attention to Detail and Strong Analytical Skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a hybrid work environment
  • Experience in the publishing or educational content industry
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
