Design Engineer for Unmanned Aerial Systems

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Design Engineer to join our R&D team focused on designing and developing advanced unmanned aerial systems.

About the Role:

  • This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the conceptual and detailed design of airframes and sub-systems, as well as perform aerodynamic analysis and optimization.
  • The ideal candidate will have strong experience in aircraft design, CAD modeling, and systems integration.
  • You will work closely with electronics, propulsion, and software teams to ensure seamless system integration.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and contribute to the conceptual and detailed design of UAV airframes and sub-systems.
  2. Perform aerodynamic analysis and optimization of UAV configurations.
  3. Design structural components and assemblies using advanced composite and lightweight materials.
  4. Develop detailed 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings.
  5. Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful system integration.
  6. Conduct structural and thermal analysis (FEA, CFD) to validate design performance.
  7. Participate in UAV prototyping, assembly, ground testing, and flight trials.
  8. Document design processes, BOMs, and support regulatory compliance for airworthiness.
  9. Stay updated on emerging technologies, materials, and design methodologies in UAV systems.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in UAV or aircraft design.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of aerodynamics, flight mechanics, and structural design.
  • Experience with composite materials and UAV fabrication techniques.
  • Familiarity with rapid prototyping, 3D printing, and manufacturing processes.
  • Hands-on experience with flight testing and UAV system integration is a plus.
  • Knowledge of FEA/CFD tools (ANSYS, XFOIL, Fluent, etc.) is desirable.
