Job Title: Pathology Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute plans for blood collection from laboratory animals.
  • Oversee anesthesia/euthanasia procedures for laboratory animals.
  • Design necropsy examinations.
  • Conduct and monitor tissue trimming, processing, block making, sectioning, slide staining of various studies.
  • Analyze histopathological slides for toxicity and efficacy studies.
  • Review slide preparation and histopathological reports.
  • Manage clinical chemistry, hematology, coagulation parameters & urine analysis.
  • Implement quality control checks for biochemical analysis.
  • Establish SOPs for pathology areas.
  • Maintain and operate histopathology instruments.
  • Evaluate in-house test results.
  • Participate in planning and executing pharmacological evaluation projects.

Allied Responsibilities:

  • Ensure availability of chemicals and materials for projects.
  • Provide RQA comments on SOPs, Protocols, Reports, and study audits.
  • Plan and execute health monitoring of animals and employees.
  • Collect and analyze samples for various analyses.
  • Prepare and execute calibration schedules for pathology equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance for pathology lab equipment.
  • Assign additional responsibilities as needed without conflict of interest.
