Data Engineering Team Lead

At our organization, we seek a skilled and experienced individual to lead our Data Engineering team. This role involves several key responsibilities:

  • Developing a deep understanding of digital trading platforms and other systems to optimize them for the business.
  • Gaining a thorough understanding of digital placement data and how it interacts with the larger data ecosystem.
  • Building consolidated views using disparate data sources and placement data that includes coverages, exposures, losses, and trading data to provide insights.
  • Solving business pain points using "business consultant" skills, working closely with business and data leaders.
  • Leveraging data and domain expertise to conceptualize and deliver on ambiguous projects with specific revenue potential.

Key qualifications include:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, economics, or an engineering discipline.
  • 10-12 years of experience in business intelligence (BI) and reporting, with a focus on enterprise-wide systems and dashboard development.
  • 2-3 years of team management experience, overseeing a team of 2-3 analysts.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills within a corporate IT environment.
  • The ability to think independently and define key performance indicators (KPIs) aligned with business strategy and goals.

Required technical skills include:

  • Data engineering and transformation skills, with proficiency in SQL or Oracle.
  • Data visualization expertise, particularly in Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms, such as Databricks on Azure and AWS.

Soft skills are also essential:

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to convey complex data in a simple and actionable manner.
