Corrosion Engineer Job Description

The Corrosion Engineer role offers an opportunity to work on high-impact projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

As a corrosion expert, you will provide critical support to operations and projects by leveraging your expertise in corrosion modelling.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing corrosion modelling support to both operations and projects
  • Working with advisors and SMEs to interpret and apply the modelling output
  • Building a centre of excellence for corrosion and erosion modelling
  • Identifying improvements and enhancements to the modelling toolset

You will also be expected to:

  • Integrate modelling with real-time data to provide improved risk management
  • Provide corrosion and materials engineering expertise to other squads across bp
  • Ensure pragmatic solutions are implemented to manage risk, production efficiency, defect elimination, and standardization

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Strong technical knowledge of corrosion modelling and materials science
  • Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering and postgraduate certification in Chemistry
  • Fluency in English, written and oral
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to network and influence across organizational boundaries
