Strategic Business Leader for India

Job Summary
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with a proven track record of driving business growth in India. As the Strategic Business Leader for India, you will oversee the domestic activities for DMG Events' flagship event in India, India Energy Week. You will be responsible for executing and overseeing new launches in India, working closely with internal stakeholders.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead the business and team to drive growth and profitability in India.
- Manage the local team and office in Delhi, as well as remote working teams in India, ensuring effective working practices and maintaining standards of excellence.
- Recruit top talent to the business, ensuring dmg events extends its reputation for attracting top talent and delivering market-leading output.
- Leverage key domestic stakeholders, cultivating strong relationships and ensuring their support is effective for the business.
- Provide local market knowledge, through experience, relationships, and learning, to inform international management's decision-making.
- Ensure required approvals and permissions are in place to effectively run the business and events in India.
- Deliver key account management across a core number of high-revenue accounts, growing spend and engagement for key players in the domestic market.
- Provide government liaison and support, identifying and engaging key government departments to build strong relationships and secure support for events.
- Identify and validate new business development opportunities for revenue and profit growth in India, producing compelling business plans and securing support from key stakeholders.
- Work closely with finance teams to ensure effective financial management of the India business, including debt collection and cash flow management.
- Drive robust procurement practices, direct involvement in negotiations, and appointments of key suppliers to drive value for the business.
Requirements
The successful candidate will be a commercially driven and experienced professional with a track record of managing cross-functional teams and driving business growth in India. A degree-educated individual with a proven track record in a senior management role across B2B events is essential.
A minimum of 10 years' experience within B2B events and 5+ years' experience of managing and leading a business are required. Sector and industry knowledge is an advantage but not essential.
