Linux Development Expert

Are you a skilled developer looking for a challenging opportunity to enhance and expand your Linux skills? We are seeking an experienced Linux Development Expert to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-quality Linux software solutions that meet the evolving needs of our users and company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Enhance and Expand the Existing Linux Workplace: Develop and implement new features to improve the functionality and user experience of our Linux workplace on Ubuntu.
  • Design, Develop and Configure New Features: Design, develop, and configure new features for Linux Client instances to address business or IT security requirements.
  • Quality Assurance and Testing: Ensure the stability and reliability of the Linux workplace on various hardware types and virtual machines.
  • 2nd Level Linux Support: Provide expert support for Linux workplace users, leveraging existing IT service management processes.
  • Troubleshooting and Debugging: Analyze and resolve integration issues with our infrastructure.
  • Linux Infrastructure Maintenance: Oversee maintenance of Linux workplace-specific infrastructure servers and software repositories.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Linux Passion: You must have a strong passion for working with Linux and a willingness to continuously learn and improve your skills.
  • Advanced Linux Packaging and Administration: Proven expertise in packaging and administering GNU/Linux and Debian-based distributions, with a strong focus on Ubuntu.
  • Software Development and Scripting: Experience in software development and scripting, with a strong background in Bash, Python, and GNU utilities.
  • Efficient Linux Software Development: Skilled in managing Linux software development processes and GIT-based CI/CD pipelines.
  • Linux Configuration Management: Knowledge and expertise in Linux configuration management solutions, including Salt-Stack, Ansible, or Puppet.
  • Modern Linux Environments: Familiarity with current desktop virtualization and Linux container runtime environments.
  • Excellent Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills in relation to debugging and error analysis under Linux.
  • IT Service Management: Proven skills in IT service management, with a focus on delivering high-quality support and services.
