Job Opportunity

We are seeking a seasoned Engineering Manager to lead our software engineering teams. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing large-scale distributed systems, working with microservices and/or distributed architecture.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving the execution and delivery of features by collaborating with multiple functional teams, architects, product owners, and engineers. They will also make critical decisions that contribute to the success of our products.

  • Drive feature execution and delivery through collaboration with cross-functional teams, architects, product owners, and engineers.
  • Making key decisions that impact product success.
  • Proactively identifying and resolving issues before they arise.
  • Lead daily stand-ups as Scrum Master for engineering teams.
  • Partner with Product Owners to align objectives, priorities, trade-offs, and risk.
  • Ensure teams have clear priorities and adequate resources.
  • Foster self-coordination among delivery teams.
  • Multiply team success and have a passion for empowering team members.
  • Provide technical guidance, career development, and mentoring to team members.
  • Maintain high team morale and motivate delivery teams to excel.
  • Vocally advocate for technical excellence and guide teams in making informed decisions.
  • Participate in architecture discussions and planning.
  • Collaborate with leads from other engineering teams on multi-functional coordination, planning, and reviews.
  • Promote and maintain our company culture by hiring qualified individuals.
  • Occasionally contribute to development tasks, such as coding and feature verification, to support teams with release commitments and stay technically proficient.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • At least 15 years of software engineering experience, with 3-5 years of proven leadership in managing large teams on fast-paced projects.
  • Experience leading large-scale distributed systems, working with microservices and/or distributed architecture.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to be flexible, proactive, and comfortable working with minimal specifications.
  • Experience with short release cycles, the full software lifecycle, and public-facing product releases.
  • Experience in hiring, mentoring, and leading engineers.
  • Working knowledge of software engineering best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, SCM, CI, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and Scrum Master role.
  • Effective communication with users, technical teams, and product management to understand requirements, describe software features, and technical designs.
Preferred Requirements
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce platform features, capabilities, and best use.
  • Able to articulate the importance and value of governance to business and IT executives.
  • Good grasp of enterprise architecture principles is highly desirable.
  • Ability to quickly understand and explain complex technological and business concepts.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor, curious about customers' motivations and needs, and how to ensure their success.
  • Degree or equivalent relevant experience required. Experience will be evaluated based on core competencies for the role.

The selected candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of software engineering principles and practices.
