Raw Materials Acquisition Specialist

The role of the Raw Materials Acquisition Specialist involves overseeing the procurement of essential raw materials for production processes. This includes developing strategies to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency, managing supplier relationships, and maintaining quality and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the procurement process from purchase requisition to payment, following established standard operating procedures.
  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency in the procurement process.
  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery capabilities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to negotiate favourable terms and conditions.
  • Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or concerns promptly.
  • Ensure that all procured raw materials meet required quality standards and specifications.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Work closely with the Inventory Management team to ensure optimal stock levels of raw materials.
  • Implement inventory control measures to minimize wastage and reduce excess stock.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant regulations, standards, and industry developments.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field. A professional certification is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on raw materials.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and strategies.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage supplier relationships and build strong partnerships.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in the Pesticide industry.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements related to raw materials procurement.
