Job Description

We are seeking a Principal Engineer Drainage to join our team in Bengaluru/Noida. As a principal design engineer, you will work within small teams to produce designs and drawings related to Storm and Foul drainage for infrastructure projects.

The role involves day-to-day project management, including the delivery of concept studies and strategies, leading to planning applications, detailed design and construction drawings.

Responsibilities include internal client liaison, assisting in the preparation of fee proposals and financial control of projects when acting as a package project manager.

You will be responsible for ensuring your projects are delivered to budget, programme and technical standards and meet QA, CDM, Sustainability and HSE requirements.

Direct line management, including mentoring and managing early career professionals to ensure technical excellence is maintained.

Preparation of fee proposals, involvement in business development activities and maintaining a positive working environment in the team.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Significant experience in drainage infrastructure design (foul and surface water), including being fully conversant in hydraulic modelling using MicroDrainage/Info Drainage.
  • Recent UK design experience essential, particularly compliant with Building Regulations, Sewers for Adoption and submission of design packs under Sections 104 and 106/107 of the Water Industry Act.
  • Design of Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS).
  • Proficiency in MicroDrainage/Info Drainege, AutoCad and Civil 3d.
  • Strong communication skills and desire to be part of a successful close-knit team.
  • Experience and interest in mentoring junior team members.
  • Proven experience taking responsibility for line management, supervision and/or mentoring junior team members.
  • Cultural awareness and an open mind is essential, along with the ability to work as part of a team.
