Academic Dean for Product Design

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial design and possess exceptional leadership skills to oversee the academic department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement academic programs for Product design that align with the school's mission and vision.
  • Supervise and support faculty members in their teaching practices, research projects, and professional development
  • Conduct regular evaluations of program curriculum to ensure it meets industry standards and stays relevant.
  • Collaborate with other departments within the design school to enhance interdisciplinary learning opportunities for students
  • Oversee student recruitment efforts, working closely with the Career advancement service team.
  • Plan departmental budget and resources effectively for discussion and approvals.
  • Bring industry experts for various academes engagements like teaching, master class, conferences/symposiums, design festivals etc. Hence the candidate should have a strong industry network.
  • Well versed with UGC, NAAC and other processes and documentations.

Qualifications:

  • Master's or Ph.D. degree in industrial design.
  • Total 15+ years of experience with minimum of 5 years experience in an academic leadership role within a design school setting
  • Strong understanding of current trends and developments in the field of industrial design
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with faculty, staff, students, industry professionals, and other stakeholders.
