Product Design Academic Leader
Description:

We seek a visionary Product Design Academic Leader to drive our academic department forward. As the ideal candidate, you will have a strong background in industrial design and exceptional leadership skills to oversee the team.

This role involves developing and implementing academic programs that align with our mission and vision. You will supervise and support faculty members, conduct regular evaluations of program curriculum, and collaborate with other departments to enhance interdisciplinary learning opportunities for students.

The successful candidate will have 15+ years of experience with minimum 5 years in an academic leadership role within a design school setting. They should be well-versed in current trends and developments in industrial design, possess excellent communication skills, and be able to engage with various stakeholders.


Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement academic programs for product design (industrial design)
  • Supervise and support faculty members in teaching practices, research projects, and professional development
  • Conduct regular evaluations of program curriculum to ensure industry standards and relevance
  • Collaborate with other departments for interdisciplinary learning opportunities
  • Oversee student recruitment efforts and plan department budget effectively
  • Bring industry experts for academies engagements like teaching, master classes, conferences/symposiums, and design festivals
  • Be well-versed in UGC, NAAC, and other processes and documentations

Qualifications:
  • Masters or Ph.D. degree in industrial design
  • Total 15+ years of experience with minimum 5 years in an academic leadership role
  • Strong understanding of current trends and developments in industrial design
  • Excellent communication skills
