Technical Project Manager Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Project Manager to lead and coordinate multiple research projects at our institution. The successful candidate will be responsible for representing project leads, summarizing and documenting project progress, and managing stakeholder expectations.

  • This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, collaborating with faculty members, engineers, and management staff to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in managing complex projects, coordinating multiple stakeholders, and providing proactive support to team members.
  • A strong analytical mindset and excellent communication skills are essential for this role, as the candidate will need to distil complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Coordination: Lead and coordinate multiple applied research projects, ensuring timely completion, quality of deliverables, and effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Stakeholder Management: Represent project leads, summarize project progress, and manage stakeholder expectations through regular updates, meetings, and presentations.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including faculty members, engineers, and management staff to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Process Improvement: Recommend tools, methods, and processes to improve project tracking and execution efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Experience in a technical role interfacing between research/engineering teams and customer-facing teams.
  • Basic familiarity with AI, machine learning concepts, and applications.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to distil complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
