Database Systems Expert

We are seeking an experienced Database Systems Expert to modernize legacy systems and design databases for future applications.

The role involves leading projects, managing and maintaining SQL Server databases, and working closely with developers, IT teams to ensure secure, efficient, and ready-for-growth data systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement secure, scalable, and highly available database solutions
  • Monitor and optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and storage management
  • Lead database capacity planning, disaster recovery strategy, and backup/restore processes
  • Implement and enforce database security controls including encryption, access controls, and auditing
  • Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to support software releases and schema changes
  • Automate routine database operations using scripting and infrastructure-as-code tools
  • Manage and troubleshoot replication, clustering, and failover configurations
  • Maintain documentation, procedures, and standards for database systems
  • Evaluate new database technologies and make recommendations for adoption

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in database administration, design, and performance tuning
  • Expertise in SQL Server, with working knowledge of other RDBMS
  • Strong proficiency in T-SQL, stored procedures, and performance analysis tools
