Job Description

As a senior database administrator, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of large-scale distributed databases. You will ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security across various database systems.

  • Develop comprehensive database backup and recovery plans to safeguard data in case of failures or disasters.
  • Monitor database performance and optimize queries for efficient data retrieval, ensuring data integrity and security within the databases.
  • Collaborate with development teams to design and implement robust database solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues, providing timely and effective solutions.
  • Document database procedures and policies, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest database technologies and best practices to ensure optimal performance and scalability.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in database administration, particularly with Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Proficiency in writing and maintaining PowerShell scripts for database automation.
  • Experience with large and complex databases in SQL Server 2019, 2017, 2014, 2012, and SQL Server 2008 R2.
  • Technical proficiency in handling Microsoft SQL Database related issues both in production and non-production environments.
  • Experience in scheduling backups, restore, and maintenance plans using native tools.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
