Job Title: Disaster Recovery Specialist

This role is responsible for ensuring the enterprise IT disaster recovery and business continuity process can be resumed with agreed upon service levels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develops Business Continuity Plans: Develops, implements, reviews, and revises business continuity plans and procedures to ensure minimal disruption during crisis situations.
  • Liaises with Technical Teams: Collaborates with technical teams to develop and maintain enterprise-wide disaster recovery strategies, risk assessments, and application and technical requirements.
  • Conducts Risk Assessments: Conducts thorough risk assessments for various departments and functions, analyzing potential business impact of unpredictable interruptions such as natural disasters, security breaches, legal claims, and market disruptions.
  • Aligns IT Priorities: Drives alignment of IT organization priorities and plans with key business objectives to ensure seamless integration and optimal results.
  • Recovery Operations: Identifies, troubleshoots, and implements recovery operations and methods to enable the organization to function at limited or partial capacity in the event of infrastructure damage or destruction.
  • Practice Drills: Creates and facilitates practice drills for plan execution to test response coordination and communications.
  • Program Metrics: Develops and tracks program metrics to demonstrate activities and progress towards established goals.
  • Business Continuity Tools: Reviews, configures, and maintains business continuity and crisis management tools to ensure optimal functionality and performance.
  • Emergency Management: Coordinates with health, safety, and security staff and local, state, and federal agencies to align the organization's emergency management plan with established best practices and community standards.
  • Crisis Response: Supports crisis response efforts to manage the coordination and communication of business disruptions.
  • Other Duties: Performs other duties as assigned by management.
