Job Title: Cloud Infrastructure Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our platform engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining high availability and disaster recovery solutions for our cloud infrastructure.

Your responsibilities will include monitoring and administering cloud resources such as EC2 instances, S3 buckets, VPCs, RDS databases, and Lambda functions. You will also develop and maintain automation scripts and tools for provisioning, configuration, and maintenance of cloud and on-premises resources.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will analyze system performance, identify trends, and implement improvements to ensure optimal resource utilization and cost efficiency. You will also utilize monitoring platforms like Datadog, Orion, Nagios, and WhatsUp Gold to monitor system performance and identify areas for improvement.

As a Cloud Infrastructure Specialist, you will implement security best practices and compliance standards to protect cloud environments. You will administer company SaaS platforms, ensuring user productivity with tools like Okta and AWS Workspaces. Finally, you will provide technical guidance and support to junior support tiers and act as an escalation resource for all technologies under the Platform Engineering umbrella.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in implementing and managing cloud solutions
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience administering cloud-based services
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional certification is highly preferred

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of cloud computing, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
