Job Overview

The CAD Technician plays a crucial role in supporting the design and delivery of mechanical, electrical, and public health services by preparing accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings and models.

This involves translating design concepts into coordinated drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit (BIM). The technician must ensure drawings comply with project requirements, building regulations, industry standards, and company protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • CAD Drawing Preparation: Prepare detailed 2D drawings and 3D models of mechanical, electrical, and public health systems.
  • Design Coordination: Work closely with engineers and designers to translate design concepts into coordinated drawings.
  • Compliance and Protocols: Ensure drawings comply with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Documentation Management: Maintain drawing registers, file management systems, and revision control.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Proficiency in CAD Software: Proficiency in AutoCAD (essential) and Revit MEP/BIM (preferred).
  • MEP Experience: Experience in preparing MEP drawings and understanding of building services design.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with British Standards and industry codes of practice.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Good communication and teamwork skills.
