This role is responsible for ensuring the optimal operation of cloud infrastructure. Key objectives include proactive monitoring, identifying, investigating and resolving cloud-based incidents, service requests and alerts without breaching service level agreements (SLAs).
The Cloud Managed Services Engineer may also contribute to project work as required.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform daily operations on IBM i systems
- Maintain maximum availability of our server environment
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Excellent understanding of IBM i System architecture
- Strong knowledge in iSeries/AS400 administration, including OS and security administration
- Experience in AS400 Security Management, Communications, Operating System Upgrades and PTF deployment, Independent Auxiliary Storage Pools (iASP's), and Storage Based Replication
- Ability to perform major operating system upgrades and full system restores
- Experience in using journaling, especially remote journaling
- Knowledge in high availability software (Mimix , iTera )
- Ability to manage backup using BRMS & Tape library and tape rotations
- Restore operations and Save operations
- Performance tuning and capacity planning
