IBM i Administrator

This is a key role for someone who has experience with IBM i systems and can perform various administrative tasks.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of system administration, security, and backup procedures.

They should also be able to troubleshoot issues and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily system monitoring and verify the integrity of all hardware and server resources.
  • Review system logs and application logs to ensure successful completion of scheduled jobs.
  • Isolate, define, resolve, and follow up on system, application, and customer problems.
  • Provide monthly reporting on system performance and assist with capacity planning requirements.
  • Maintain 3rd party software applications and participate in disaster recovery testing.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of IBM i experience in a production environment.
  • Experience with BRMS, CL programming, and IBM i security concepts.
  • Familiarity with configuring Power hardware using an HMC.
  • Experience with MIMIX, Connect CDC, and Attunity replication software tools.
  • Strong understanding of application support processes and procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
