Materials Planning Expert

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Materials Planner to join our automotive supply chain operations. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for developing and executing material planning strategies based on production schedules, customer forecasts, and inventory levels.

The ideal candidate will have experience handling various materials planning processes, including demand forecasting, supplier coordination, inventory control, and production support. You will work closely with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and components, monitor and optimize inventory levels to maintain continuity in production while minimizing excess stock.

A strong background in MRP systems, such as SAP or Oracle, is essential for this role. Additionally, you should have excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills, as well as a problem-solving mindset with a data-driven approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute material planning strategies based on production schedules, customer forecasts, and inventory levels.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure the on-time delivery of raw materials and components.
  • Monitor and optimize inventory levels to maintain continuity in production while minimizing excess stock.
  • Analyze material requirements using MRP systems (SAP/Oracle/QAD or equivalent).
  • Drive material readiness for engineering changes, new product introductions, and line-side availability.
  • Collaborate with purchasing, production, and logistics teams to proactively resolve material shortages or delays.
  • Support cost-saving initiatives through better material utilization and continuous supplier performance improvements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Experience in materials planning within an Automotive Tier 1 or Tier 2 manufacturing setup.
