As a key member of our Engineering team, you'll play a critical role in designing and maintaining multiple technologies, including our API backend, credit scoring and underwriting systems, payments integrations, and operations tools.

You'll work closely with our Product and Data Science teams to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring new ideas to life.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scalable APIs and backend systems that meet the needs of our frontend clients.
  • Integrate with various third-party systems, including payment systems, identity providers, and messaging platforms.
  • Collaborate with our Product team to design and develop new financial products that meet the needs of our customers.
  • Scale our backend services to meet ever-growing levels of traffic and complexity.

Requirements

  • Strong experience (3-8 years) of building backend software for web-based or mobile products.
  • Experience leveraging modern AI tools for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Strong knowledge of software development fundamentals, including relevant background in computer science fundamentals, distributed systems, data storage, and agile development methodologies.
  • Pragmatic and combine a strong understanding of technology and product needs to arrive at the best solution for a given problem.
  • Highly entrepreneurial and thrive in taking ownership of your own impact. You take the initiative to solve problems before they arise.
  • Excellent collaborator & communicator. You know that startups are a team sport. You listen to others, aren't afraid to speak your mind and always try to ask the right questions.
  • Excited by the prospect of working in a distributed team and company, working with teammates from all over the world.
  • Experience in designing, building, and maintaining scalable data architectures that integrate disparate data sources.
  • A strong command on Data Modelling and Organization best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with toolstack similar to dbt, Airflow, Snowflake, Metabase, etc.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language like Python.
