Key Roles for Machine Shop Maintenance Specialist

This role involves maintaining the optimal functioning of machine shop facilities. The maintenance engineer ensures smooth operations, identifies issues, and resolves them to minimize downtime.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform regular equipment checks and scheduled maintenance tasks on machine shop tools including grinding machines, turning centers, machining centers (HMC/VMC), and induction hardening systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex problems with Fanuc, Siemens CNC/PLC control systems, and other industrial equipment.
  • Develop preventive maintenance schedules to ensure minimal downtime and peak performance.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement using metrics such as MTBF, MTTR, and OEE.
  • Maintain a strong network of vendors for repairing PLC/CNC cards, drives, PCBs, and critical components.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry developments and best practices in machine shop maintenance.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical/Electronics or Electronics/Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in machine shop maintenance, preferably in crank shaft/cam shaft/Gear machining/Precision machining.
  • Expertise in CNC & PLC maintenance, programming, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of electrical drawings, configuration of software/hardware, and familiarity with Gantry maintenance.
  • Familiarity with Induction hardening, heat treatment processes, and vendor management.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently.
