High Performance Computing Professional

We are seeking an experienced High Performance Computing (HPC) Systems Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HPC system administration and excellent technical skills.

• Administer and manage HPC clusters, including setting up and configuring infrastructure, networks, and software tools.
• User Account Management: Create, manage, and implement access controls and permissions for HPC users.
• Create and maintain AMI images in AWS accounts for launching instances and managing metadata.
• Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems on HPC clusters, including patching, upgrading, and troubleshooting OS issues.

1. Administration of HPC and VDI clusters: Setup, management, network settings, software tools.
2. User Account management for HPC onboarding and offboarding: User account creation, management, access control, permissions.
3. Creation and Maintenance of AMI Images in AMI accounts: Image creation, updating, metadata management.
4. Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems on HPC clusters: Patching, upgrading, OS issue troubleshooting.
5. Support HPC necessary components and native services by coordinating with providers: Vendor coordination, issue resolution, feature implementation.
6. AWS Managed Active Directory support and Management: Active directory setup, management within AWS.
7. Continuous upgrades to the HPC platform and related components - OS, Java, Python, EFPortal, etc.: Staying updated with latest releases, patches.
8. Implement and maintain necessary compliance controls: US Export Control, Confidentiality, regular audits, corrective actions.
9. Co-ordinate with other teams like v-drive team in testing and migrating/installing engineering applications: Team collaboration, application testing, deployment.
10. Manage job schedulers such as Slurm or LSF: Job scheduling software configuration, resource utilization optimization.
11. Utilize node provisioning tools like Werewolf: Node provisioning, management within the cluster.
12. Troubleshoot system issues and provide technical support: Issue diagnosis, resolution, user support.
13. Monitor system performance and ensure optimal operation: System metrics monitoring, optimal performance maintenance.
14. Collaborate with other IT professionals to integrate new technologies into the existing infrastructure: Technology integration, collaboration with IT professionals.
15. Progressive experience in HPC system administration, preferably in a Redhat/CentOS Linux environment: HPC system administration experience, Linux environment preference.
16. AWS Cloud formation templates to build infrastructure for HPC and storage Amazon FSx for Netapp and Lustre: Cloud formation templates usage, infrastructure building.

Requirements:

• Strong background in HPC system administration.
• Excellent technical skills, preferably in a Redhat/CentOS Linux environment.
• AWS cloud experience, specifically with cloud formation templates.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other IT professionals.
