Job Title: Construction Project Director

The successful candidate will oversee the planning, development, and execution of construction projects across a large university campus.

This role ensures that all projects are completed on time and to a high standard for quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the management and delivery of major construction projects, including new buildings, renovations, and infrastructure improvements.
  • Develop project scopes, budgets, and resource plans in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Oversee project design review, procurement, contractor selection, and contract negotiations.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with relevant policies and regulations.
  • Monitor project progress, quality control, and budget adherence; prepare and present regular status reports.
  • Manage and mentor project managers and support staff within the team.
  • Ensure sustainable building practices and energy efficiency considerations are integrated into projects.
  • Collaborate with campus departments to align construction projects with academic and operational needs.
  • Serve as a key advisor to senior leadership on construction and capital project matters.
Requirements:
  • Masters degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field (Masters degree preferred).
  • Minimum 18+ years of experience in construction project management, preferably within higher education or institutional environments.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale construction projects from inception to completion.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, contract management, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work collaboratively with diverse teams.
  • Proficiency with project management software and tools.
