Job Title: Chief Engineer - Biofuel Operations Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead the engineering, commissioning, and operations of our biofuel facility. The ideal candidate will own the plant from design handover through commissioning, ensuring safety, reliability, and top-quartile performance.

  • Plant Setup (Greenfield/Brownfield): Lead end-to-end commissioning leadership—utilities readiness, pre-start checks, start-up, performance ramp-up, stabilization.

This role entails managing multiple aspects of the facility's operations, including digestion, gas cleanup/upgrading, compression, storage/dispensing, and utilities optimization. You will be responsible for establishing preventive/predictive maintenance protocols, conducting root cause analyses, and driving reliability metrics. Effective management of EPCs and contractors is also crucial in this position.

  • Optimize digestion, gas cleanup/upgrading (H₂S/CO₂ removal), compression, storage/dispensing, and utilities.
  • Establish preventive/predictive maintenance (CMMS), run RCAs, and drive reliability (MTBF/MTTR).
  • Manage EPCs and contractors; control scope, change, and debottlenecking projects.

Your responsibilities will also include ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and owning SOPs, PTW, emergency response, and audit readiness. Building and mentoring O&M teams will be key to success in this role.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need extensive experience leading plant setup/commissioning and operations in biofuel/biogas/CBG or closely related continuous-process industries. Proven technology evaluation/verification experience and strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical & instrumentation systems are essential.

  • Strong troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical & instrumentation (compressors, blowers, agitators, PSA/membrane, analyzers, HT/LT).

A solid command of EHS, environmental norms, and compliance is necessary. Demonstrated team leadership, stakeholder management, and crisp communication are also critical for this position.
