About the Role

The Sous Chef plays a pivotal role in maintaining an efficient operation by analyzing quality and cost of food production.

  • Maintain operational efficiency, monitor time management, and ensure adherence to set standards.
  • Provide ongoing training, ensuring that Corporate Offices' guidelines are followed.
  • Promote safe, quality food products and exceptional guest satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement systems, procedures, and rules to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Work within technical/specialized areas to improve service and product quality.
  • Maintain a positive, accommodating manner.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve set goals in a non-assertive and efficient manner.
  • Conduct daily food tastings, correct discrepancies, and ensure compliance with Public Health regulations.
Qualifications
  • Advanced culinary skills, leadership, and experience.
  • Minimum 8 years in the profession (Quality Hotels and Restaurants).
  • 2+ years of experience in a management role in a luxury hospitality establishment or upscale cruise line.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Effective communication with senior management.
  • Able to lead and make decisions.
  • Strong administrative skills.
  • Experienced in coaching subordinates.
  • Cost and quality conscious.
Preferred Skills
  • Cruise Ship Experience or 5-star Hotel background.
  • Fluency in additional language(s).
