Data Infrastructure Specialist Job Description

As a Data Infrastructure Specialist, you will be responsible for continually evaluating the performance of our data systems and improving their scalability and reliability. This includes identifying developing problems, planning changes for upcoming high-load events, applying security fixes, testing and performing incremental upgrades, and extending and improving our monitoring and alert infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and improve the performance of data systems.
  • Plan and implement changes for upcoming high-load events.
  • Apply security fixes and test incremental upgrades.
  • Extend and improve monitoring and alert infrastructure.
Requirements:
  • 6-12 years of experience in administration and management of data systems.
  • Strong knowledge in provisioning and configuration management tools like Puppet, Ansible, Rundeck, etc.
  • Experience in building automations and infrastructure as code using Terraform, Packer or CloudFormation templates.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Splunk, Prometheus, PagerDuty, etc.
  • Experience with scripting languages like Python, Bash, Go, Ruby, Perl, etc.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Pipelines, Artifactory, etc.
  • Ability to troubleshoot effectively and follow a problem wherever it may lead.
