Optical Network Tester Job Description

As a skilled Optical Network Tester, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our optical network systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Understanding customer optical network and service models along with the proposed Wave Suite solution from multiple test perspectives.
  • Collaborating closely with team members to execute Agile Scrum Software Development methodology.
  • Designing and implementing manual and/or automated tests to validate functionality, scalability, and stability of the WaveSuite.
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities to enhance test infrastructure, automation coverage, and network element simulation.
  • Acting as a customer advocate to identify, characterize, troubleshoot, and evaluate fixes for defects that may impact the customer experience.
  • Planning, executing, and tracking all test and quality assurance activities for projects in an iterative delivery process.
  • Working on an end-to-end system integrating GUI with third-party software and custom-made APIs.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 8-10 years of relevant work experience and 5+ years of automation testing experience.
  • Well-versed in a wide range of test domains, including OSS/BSS, REST API, and GUI systems.
  • Understanding of networking and protocol concepts, ideally with experience in optical networking.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills, identifying, characterizing, and investigating issues, and driving them to timely resolution.
