A challenging role for a skilled systems engineer to lead the design and implementation of optical networks. This position requires strong technical expertise in system requirements, customer needs analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of L2 switching and legacy transmission technologies, including SDH/Sonet, for seamless integration. Additionally, they will possess expertise in network management interfaces such as SNMP, Netconf/Restconf/Yang, CLI, and TL1, with the ability to enhance and adapt existing models.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and maintain system requirements, external interface specifications, and business/operational needs.
  • Conduct feasibility studies to assess the technical and business impact of new features.
  • Work closely with architects, developers, and validation teams to ensure accurate implementation of requirements.
  • Provide timely clarification and responses to development teams regarding feature definitions.
  • Collaborate with product management and industry experts to develop appropriate technical solutions.
Requirements
  • BE/BTech in Engineering, specializing in telecommunications, networking, or related fields.
  • 10+ years of experience in optical networking, focusing on GMPLS, OTN, DWDM, and Ethernet technologies.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and collaboration skills to work effectively in multi-site and multi-cultural teams.
Desirable Skills
  • Hands-on experience with alarm management and performance monitoring processes aligned with ITU-T standards.
  • Deep understanding of security best practices across the development lifecycle, from requirement definition to verification.
  • Experience using version control tools like Git/Gerrit.
