Job Title: Pharmaceutical Procurement Specialist

 

Job Summary:

 

The Pharmaceutical Procurement Specialist will develop and implement a centralized pharmaceutical procurement strategy to optimize medicine supply chain across multiple hospitals. This role oversees the development and execution of procurement plans, vendor management, inventory and supply chain management, compliance, and financial management.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

1. Procurement Strategy Development

Develop a comprehensive procurement plan for pharmaceutical products, considering market analysis, competitive pricing, and product availability.

 

2. Vendor Relationship Management

Negotiate contracts, manage relationships, and evaluate supplier performance to ensure timely delivery of high-quality medicines.

 

3. Inventory & Supply Chain Optimization

Oversee warehouse operations, implement inventory management systems, and coordinate distribution schedules to minimize stock wastage and ensure smooth supply chain operations.

 

4. Compliance & Quality Assurance

Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical regulations, maintain proper documentation, and implement quality control measures to guarantee the quality of incoming products.

 

5. Financial Planning & Budgeting

Develop and manage procurement budgets, monitor cost optimization initiatives, and prepare reports for management review.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or related field; Master's degree in Supply Chain/Operations Management is advantageous.

 

Experience:

8-12 years in pharmaceutical procurement, preferably in hospital/healthcare settings; experience with centralized procurement operations and vendor management is essential.

 

Technical Skills:

Understanding of pharmaceutical regulations, knowledge of drug storage, handling, and distribution protocols, proficiency in inventory management systems, and ERP software.

 

Key Competencies:

Strong negotiation and communication skills, problem-solving capabilities, leadership skills, and attention to detail.

 

Reporting Structure:

Reports to Operations Head; team size: 3-5 members.
