Job Title:

Director of Performance Excellence

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving organizational performance by leading and implementing a performance-driven culture across the organization.

This involves strategic implementation of the Performance Management System (PMS), including Balanced Scorecard (BSC) methodology, to ensure performance alignment with business goals and provide data-driven insights to senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and manage the end-to-end PMS for the organization, ensuring seamless integration with HRMS systems.

  • Act as a strategic advisor to senior leaders, aligning business and people performance through BSC-based scorecards at organization, department, and individual levels.

  • Institutionalize Balanced Scorecard (BSC) to measure performance across Financial, Customer, Internal Process, and Learning & Growth perspectives.

Balanced Scorecard Framework:
  • Develop BSC-based scorecards at organization, department, and individual levels, defining SMART KPIs across all four BSC dimensions.

  • Generate dashboards and BSC reviews for strategic decision-making by senior leadership, providing data-driven insights on performance trends and gaps.

Appraisal and Review Management:
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, annual, and mid-year performance review cycles, ensuring objectivity, consistency, and linkage of performance to rewards.

  • Drive calibration and moderation processes across departments, promoting fairness and equity in performance evaluation.

Data Analysis & Reporting:
  • Analyze performance data to identify trends, gaps, and improvement opportunities, providing actionable insights to senior leadership.

  • Provide regular MIS reports on performance metrics, ensuring timely and accurate information for strategic decision-making.

Employee Development & Talent Decisions:
  • Partner with L&D teams to link performance outcomes to training and development, ensuring employee growth and skill enhancement.

  • Enable succession planning, HiPo identification, and role readiness mapping using BSC insights, ensuring talent pipeline readiness.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Education: MBA/PGDM in HR or equivalent from a reputed institute.

Experience: 8–12 years in HR with a strong focus on Performance Management and Balanced Scorecard implementation.

Industry Preference: Electronics, Industrial Automation, Engineering, or Manufacturing.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in BSC, PMS modules of HRMS systems, Excel, analytics, and dashboard tools.

Behavioural Competencies: Strategic thinking, execution capability, strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, ability to manage dual reporting and multiple business expectations.

Preferred Attributes: Demonstrated experience in deploying BSC in a manufacturing or engineering environment, strong analytical skills to interpret performance data for leadership use, comfortable working in matrix organizations with cross-functional dependencies.
