We are seeking an experienced Network and System Administration Professional to join our IT infrastructure team. This role requires a unique blend of networking knowledge and system administration skills to ensure the high availability, security, and performance of our enterprise IT systems.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting, maintaining, and troubleshooting network operations while also handling system administration tasks for servers, storage, and related infrastructure. Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring, troubleshooting, and supporting Layer 2 (switching) and Layer 3 (routing) network infrastructure.
  • Configuring and maintaining network devices such as switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • Handling VLANs, trunking, STP, port security, and link aggregation.
  • Assisting in escalated issues from L1 engineers and coordinating with vendors if required.
  • Performing periodic network health checks, patching, and firmware upgrades.
  • Documenting network topologies, configurations, and standard operating procedures.

In addition to network engineering responsibilities, the successful candidate will also have expertise in system administration, including:

  • Administering Windows/Mac systems Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and group policies.
  • Performing user account management, access control, and security policy enforcement.
  • Maintaining virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V/KVM) and cloud-based environments.
  • Monitoring server performance, storage, and backups, ensuring business continuity.
  • Applying OS patches, updates, and security hardening.
  • Supporting troubleshooting of applications and system-level issues escalated from L1.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3–5 years of experience in networking and system administration roles.
  • Strong understanding of L2/L3 networking (VLANs, STP, OSPF, BGP, TCP/IP, QoS).
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco/Juniper/HP/Aruba switches and routers.
  • Proficiency in Windows/Mac system administration.
  • Knowledge of virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar).
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (Nagios, SolarWinds, Zabbix, etc.).
  • Scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) is a plus.
