Senior Network Software Engineer Job

We are seeking a skilled Senior Network Software Engineer to help design, develop, and maintain next-generation cloud-managed networking software.

  • This role involves designing and implementing network-focused software with emphasis on control and management plane protocols.
  • You will develop modules to work with network telemetry protocols and REST APIs for performance monitoring and analytics.
  • The successful candidate will build software that leverages Layer 2 (L2) and Layer 3 (L3) networking protocols metrics to improve visibility, management, and troubleshooting.
  • Collaboration with cloud architects and backend developers is essential to design and optimize cloud-managed networking solutions.
  • The engineer will contribute to the development of fault-tolerant, distributed architectures ensuring resilience and high availability.
  • Implementing real-time communication features using technologies like WebSockets is also part of this role.
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) is required to deploy and scale networking applications.
Requirements:

This position requires a strong understanding of network protocols across control, management, and data planes.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science is necessary.
  • Strong software development skills (Python, Go, C/C++) with proven experience building production systems are required.
  • Solid knowledge of L2/L3 concepts (ARP, VLAN, IP, TCP/IP) in a software development context is expected.
  • Familiarity with real-time communication frameworks (WebSockets preferred) is required.
  • Experience deploying software in containers (Docker) and Kubernetes clusters is necessary.
  • Understanding of resilient system design including redundancy and high availability is required.
