Diagnostic Imaging Coding Specialist

We are seeking highly skilled Diagnostic Imaging Coding Specialists to accurately assign codes for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, ensuring compliance with regulations and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze medical imaging reports to assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes.
  • Maintain coding compliance in accordance with ACR, CMS, and payer guidelines.
  • Codify various diagnostic modalities including X-ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, and Radiation oncology.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, billing staff, and auditors to resolve coding discrepancies.
  • Stay updated with coding guidelines, NCCI edits, and regulatory changes.
  • Meet productivity and accuracy benchmarks as established by the department.
  • Assist in internal and external audits as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of hands-on experience in diagnostic imaging coding (IR preferred)
  • MIPS Coding is Mandatory
  • In-depth knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II codes
  • Familiarity with payer-specific rules and LCD/NCD policies
