Job Overview
This position is responsible for leading the Credit Initiation function in-country, ensuring efficient and effective operations. The role involves shaping the Retail Risk Operations strategic direction, collaborating with stakeholders to deliver against strategic initiatives, and optimizing operating efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Leadership
- Provide input into shaping the Retail Risk Operations strategic direction.
- Work with in-country stakeholders to deliver against the Retail Risk Operations strategic initiative.
- Operational Excellence
- Optimize operating efficiency while balancing the effectiveness of file processing within the Retail Risk Operations function.
- Ensure cost management discipline in Credit Initiation.
- Process Management
- Ensure credit files are processed according to process standards defined by CCO.
- Lead and drive standardization, automation, and consolidation through re-engineering and process improvement initiatives.
- Leverage credit assessment infrastructure capability to optimize process efficiency.
- Act quickly and decisively on risk and control weaknesses.
- Implement the Operational Risk Framework in Retail Risk Operations and monitor operational risk metrics.
- Identify and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to support strategy testing environment and daily operations.
- Risk Management
- Identify and share industry best practices and work with businesses for their feasibility and implementation.
- Monitor application quality and provide timely inputs to in-country stakeholders for optimizing risk and reward relationship.
- Ensure all Credit Initiation policies and procedures comply with Group Policies and Standards.
- Ensure proper documentation in place for in-country policies and procedures.
- Governance
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and business conduct requirements.
- Embed Group's values and code of conduct in Credit Initiation to ensure highest standards of ethics and compliance among employees.
- Accountable for satisfactory closure of issues gaps arising from Internal Audits, peer reviews, and regulatory reviews.
- Regulatory Business Conduct
- Display exemplary conduct and live by Group's Values and Code of Conduct.
- Take personal responsibility for embedding highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank.
- Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate, and resolve risk, conduct, and compliance matters.
- Lead to achieve outcomes set out in the Bank's Conduct Principles: Fair Outcomes for Clients, Effective Financial Markets, Financial Crime Compliance, and The Right Environment.
