About the Role

In this key position, you will be responsible for designing and implementing robust and scalable databases using PostgreSQL. Your primary focus will be on ensuring data integrity, security, and performance while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement database architectures using PostgreSQL, taking into account scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Develop and optimize database queries, stored procedures, and functions to improve performance and reduce complexity.
  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate database solutions with application systems, ensuring seamless data flow and minimal latency.
  • Ensure data security and integrity by implementing appropriate access controls, encryption, and backup strategies.
  • Maintain and improve existing databases, identifying areas for optimization and implementing changes as needed.
Requirements
  • Minimum 6+ years of experience in database design, development, and administration, preferably with PostgreSQL.
  • Excellent knowledge of RDBMS concepts, including data modeling, normalization, and denormalization.
  • Hands-on experience with query optimization techniques and tools, such as EXPLAIN and ANALYZE.
  • Familiarity with ETL and ELT processing using tools like Azure Data Factory (ADF).
  • Strong understanding of DevOps practices, including continuous integration, delivery, and deployment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience with cloud-based database services, such as Amazon Aurora or Google Cloud SQL.
  • Familiarity with containerization using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies and hands-on experience with Scrum or Kanban.
  • Ability to write database queries and code while maintaining data quality, privacy, and security.
